Friday classes:
” Starting in 2008, we will be allowing clubs to offer a Friday trial with more than the previous two class rules….Under NO circumstances may a club offer a Friday trial in
conjunction with a different venue trial on Saturday or Sunday. The Friday trial can only be in addition to a full Saturday/Sunday trial. We will not approve a Friday/Saturday trial or a Friday/Sunday trial. (the exception is the “night time” trials that run during the evening hours of Friday and Saturday in the hotter climates rather than during the day time hours on Saturday and Sunday.)… see the list for more details.”

SCTs:
Times will increase 1 to 1 1/2 seconds for all 4″, 8″, 12″ and 16″ dogs… the times for the 20 and 20+ dogs will remain the same for all classes except Touch N Go and Weavers, where the times will increase 3/4 to 1 1/2 seconds for all dogs.

AMBOR:
Seems it has been put back in Sharon Nelson’s court and she hopes that someone will offer to take it over — until then, I beleive she will nurse it along as long as she can.

HOOPERS:
It is here to stay…starting in January, Hoops will also be “allowed” in Weavers, Touch N Go, Chances and Regular. She stated that clubs should have several available for the judges use. They are not “required” ( yet)…. and the Championship titles are not changing yet. DO not panic if you club does not have them — just be sure that the Judge knows whether or not you do.

One other thing is some titles will be added in – Extended titles. If your dog gets a superior title, lets say in Novice Tunnelers (100 points) but you don’t want to move out of novice, you could stay and get another 100 points for the TN-N-200 title. Goes up in increments of 100 (and I’m guessing that in regular it goes up in increments of 200 for Novice/open, and every 400 for elite regular, 200 for elite all other classes?) There was also mention of a title similar to the PSS (Platinum Speed star) where the dog would *not* have to have a DRI over 100… but the details are very shady to me.

The 2008 FCI World Agility Championships are in Helsinki, Finland. If you are applying for the CKC CAT please read the following information and the zero-tolerance law.

This is a mail received from the Finnish delegate:
“Please note that Finland has anti doping laws already in effect, and it would be a good
idea for everyone to check out the web site to acquaint themselves what is considered “doping” in dogs. I know some of us are giving dogs medication and “supplements” of all sorts. You may be surprised what is and is not allowed.”Doping includes; anit-inflammatory medication, sedatives, tranquilizers, performance enhancing drugs, pain medication, growth hormones, blood transfusions and any colour or coat enhancers. Anything that improves, reduces or maintains the dogs performance artificially.

Washout periods: there are specific days a dog has to be clean of the medication before the
competition. Example: Metacam must not be given 28 day before the competition.

Concerning cropping and docking and WC 2008 in Finland. Cropping and docking in Finland is not allowed, but competitors are allowed to participate in the World Dog Shows and the Agility World Championships with cropped/docked dogs.

There are no forbidden breeds in Finland (No breed bans).

You’ll find the anti-doping regulation or zero tolerance regulation from following link: http://www.kennelliitto.fi/EN/events/antidoping/antidopingEN.htm
