Kit cracks me up. She’s the oldest in the house. I think she must be almost 17 by now. She has always liked her photo taken, I took these last week when I was taking pics of Jack…she just seemed to show up a lot when the camera was out
. And yes, I officially suck at naming my cats…

For the trip down to Turner this weekend, I’m going to have to take a crate out of the van. I’ve been trying to prepare to have to do that…but not necessarily for Jack physically not being there with us this weekend. I know he’s with us…but I guess I’m not quite there yet.
The camera has been a blessing. I don’t really know the ins and outs of it and it probably has features that I won’t ever use…but I’m glad I won the bet that got it here. Most of Jackson’s photos are from the pre-digital, pre-scanner days. We have albums full of Jack starting from pretty much a few days after he was born. We have pictures of him playing tunnelers and having fun (it was the only agility he enjoyed) and pictures of him lure coursing. We’ve been remembering all sorts of things about him but not much of it is sports related even tho he was very talented on the field and he introduced us to a lot of new sports…none of that was what defined him.
What we remember most is how loving, gentle, and calm he was. Like when he used to help with school tours at the vet clinic where I used to work. Groups of kids would come in and he would start dancing in his crate and when it was finally his turn he would burst out of his crate and run to the middle of the kids and just be surrounded by them. And he was just happy but calm about the whole thing. He would stand still as all the kids lined up to listen to his heart…and they all got to practice brushing his teeth…he loved it…he just soaked it all in. He was also would lay in the sun beam at the door of the pet store I managed. He was the welcoming committee. Everyone instantly relaxed and just loved watching him relax in the sun. They would walk around him with all their stuff and they would stop me when I tried to call him out of the way “No, it’s ok, he doesn’t have to move”, they’d say. What a genius. He didn’t give everyone kisses but knew just who was a dog person and needed some of his attention. He had a way of helping anybody feel better when they needed it. He gave the best upside down kisses
…on cue even. I swear that boy should’ve opened up a kissing booth. He was my boy.
Thanks to everyone who posted nice comments or emailed…we really appreciate it.

wtf of the day : You can play with them but don’t bite…”
One of the things that’s cool about agility is that we get to drive to places we’ve never been to before. But then again all we’re doing is driving there doing agility (same obstacles everywhere) then driving back. LOL. So here’s the most recent opportunity: Agility in Manitoba (www.agilitymb.ca) will be holding their annual usdaa trial in August. Here’s wiki on Manitoba. According to google maps it should take 1 day and 1 hour to get to Winnipeg (the site is just Northeast of Winnipeg). I crack myself up sometimes. No, I’m not going to Manitoba…and definitely not for agility.
Been adding stuff to my Clean Run wish list and am kinda interested in this supplement Young At Heart supplement .
Bylaws have changed in the District of North Vancouver, where we work. The main changes are to the definition and treatment of “aggressive” dogs. The breed-specific legislation has been removed (so certain breeds, such as pit bulls, no longer have to be muzzled in public). And the new definition of “aggressive” is defined as “any dog which has, without provocation, attacked, bitten, or aggressively harassed or pursued a person or domestic animal.” This means if any dog were to for example run up and bark at a person, this could be construed as harassing aggressively, and the fine would be $200. Not sure what the previous definition was…if the change is good or bad…but I can see how this can be used to anyone’s advantage…
In other news, some study revealed that soda can fark up your dna.
And, here’s a cool pic I took of Kit, blind wrecker extraordinaire:
